Wysteria Residences

The Wysteria Residences are a newly designed project within the Russian Hill-Vallejo Crest National Register Historic District. Given that the block is the birthplace of the First Bay Region Style and is a contributor to its rebirth as the Second Bay Region Style, the current project will pay homage to the character of this design The dense landscaping and the concrete retaining wall built well before the 1906 Earthquake are contributing factors to the district’s distinction, and therefore must be retained. Additionally, a large redwood tree sitting on the corner will also be protected during construction. Owing to all these factors, the design and impending construction has been subject to a rigorous review by city officials and community members.
