SUMMARY
Began his career as a draftsman in the offices of McKim, Mead & White.
Pursued architectural studies in Europe and returned to New York, where he opened an office in 1885.
Moved to San Francisco in 1889
Responsible for many important buildings, including the
Ferry Building
, the Crocker Building and Trinity Church.
